The walls of the Cinque Terre increasingly international

Landscape, sea, villages, mountains and dry stone walls.

The Cinque Terre, now famous all over the world, continue to represent an important tourist destination but not only.

Also thanks to Stonewallsforlife, the precious dry stone walls are increasingly affecting the scientific community and this is also due to the work carried out by the project partnership.

In May 2023 DISTAV researchers participated in the EGU2023 international congress organized by the European Geosciences Union, held in Vienna, where they had the opportunity to present the strategies and activities of the Stonewalls4life project to students from all over the world.

During the conference, the DISTAV researchers showed the results of the research activities that are taking place in the Manarola site and had the opportunity to discuss issues concerning the protection of #terraced landscapes.

In June, the project managers of the Cinque Terre Park were invited to Rome on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the CNR where they presented the project at the conference “Climate change and cultural heritage – From impact assessment to risk management”.

An important opportunity to meet with Italian and European scholars and researchers.

Our project was presented in the “Good Practices” section.
